In 2006, Augustea marked a significant milestone by strengthening its position in the global maritime industry through key strategic partnerships and fleet expansion. This year highlighted the company's commitment to delivering unparalleled maritime services, cementing its reputation as a leader in the shipping sector.

Tugs

Tugs, or tugboats, are small but powerful vessels designed to maneuver larger ships by pushing, pulling, or guiding them in ports, narrow channels, or open waters. They play a critical role in maritime operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels that lack the maneuverability to navigate confined spaces on their own.

Our Milestones

Since 1980, Augustea has achieved numerous milestones in the transportation sector, reflecting its strategic growth and operational developments in the maritime industry.

2025

In January 2025, Augustea increased its fleet through the acquisition of two semisubmersible barges: AMT Giant and AMT Goliath. These two assets (ex Giant 5 and Giant 6) put Augustea as one of the main players for oceangoing barges over 400 ft

2021

On 29th January 2021 the semisubmersible barge AMT Commander has been delivered to “Malin Augustea UK Ltd”. The barge will be converted to serve the needs of a UK Navy program for the launch of new frigates.
